I have a wealth of archived 'best of sickipedia' (by my standards) and can make this available if it is useful. Some years back I created a similar forum for my mates but they weren't too bothered - yours looks much better! I'll gladly help testing and debugging. Thankyou! To be honest I just need to know if there’s any faults that I haven’t cottoned on to. One person says they don’t like the snow. I’ve set it to automatically snow from 1-Dec to 6-Jan so I won’t forget. I've now added a switch so users can turn it off. I’ve just added replies in the messaging function after someone sent me a message and I couldn’t respond. I added a Cloudflare Turnstile to the signup process. I haven’t ever used email verification before so I’d risk breaking the site if I dabbled. If I delete a user it deletes all their posts and reputation so they can’t really do too much damage. I’ll probably add a new user limit per hour if there’s any problems and look into fighting back. Much appreciated, Xander

Oh s**t. I can’t seem to recreate that on iPhone or Win11/Chrome browser. It does seem to log out a lot on my browsers but I am recoding and resetting the server quite a bit at times while I'm ironing out bugs and finishing config so that could cause session issues. I've just changed the cookie settings to serve the whole domain rather than jokes.supergalley.com and sickipedia.supergalley.com separately. Try opening your bookmark and hitting 'Refresh'. It might be that the browser has cached the logged in page while logging out and doing something that requires auth makes it catch up with itself.

I had a lot of issues yesterday in accessing forum / messages, (login loop) all fine today.

I've managed to backup all my old jokes from the old site plus about 50 pages of Christmas jokes. If you want to collaborate on a siterip/harvest the good the bad and the ugly let me know I am always down for some coding.

I wonder if it would be any use setting up auto-endpoints so users can upload like a DB or CSV and have it auto-post jokes under your own username automatically every hour, am/pm, day, week, fortnight etc? I think I should set up notifications for Forum posts because I’ve only just noticed these comments on the offchance. It seems to be running well overall now I’ve ironed out all the fundamentals. Lightning fast being a barebones Python Flask app compared to Sicki’s laggy site. Should have a bit of time this month because I’ve had to dump all my holidays to save losing them 🥹🙌

I just hated logging in to see 10 Chum "jokes" in a row that were just every dumb thought that went through his mind. None of them remotely sick but all immediately voted up to 6. Some of them were funny sometimes but the vote manipulation on the other site made proper representation impossible.

I liked some of his jokes and he can write a gag. I thought he was singled out and picked on. You can just skip past him, as though its a wasp joke or read them and hope for a corker. I always thought he was Irish

My problem with sickipedia was that I always read the jokes in order from newest to oldest, not by score. Also I use a computer not a phone and for some reason the layout means I look at the joke first and not who's written it. The net result is any time I logged in I'd just get 10 chum jokes in a row. Yes the guy can write gags but they weren't sick. Most of it belonged on r/dadjokes. If they just had an option to hide all jokes from specific users I'd have hidden him, wasp, Hadoken, jimmysammy and been perfectly happy.
